Two Serie A clubs have opened talks with Lazio to ask after redundant midfielder Toma Basic ahead of a possible move.
The Biancocelesti have worked hard to bolster Marco Baroni’s squad this summer, investing in Loum Tchaouna, Tijjani Noslin, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Gaetano Castrovilli and Nuno Tavares. The club are also planning to sign a new forward and possibly a new midfielder.
Lazio are also planning to cut the fat from their squad, keen to lighten up the wage bill and make space for new signings. Mohamed Fares, Andre Anderson, Matteo Cancellieri, Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro and Basic are all on the chopping block as the second month of the transfer market approaches.
As reported by Il Tempo (via TMW), Venezia and Parma have been in contact with Lazio to ask for information about Basic, who has no future in Baroni’s project in Rome. The 27-year-old is contracted to the club until June 2026 and has also attracted attention from France.
The Croatian midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan with Salernitana, where he saw 1166 minutes of action across 15 matches.
I wish him luck. He can prove a point at any of those clubs.
I wish him all the best
