Lazio will need to pay hefty fees if they want to secure former Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez on a Free Transfer this summer.

The 33-year-old Colombian forward is currently a Free Agent after terminating his contract with Sao Paolo and his Agent Jorge Mendes has toured a number of European clubs to offer his client’s services, with the Biancocelesti on this list.

Lazio are open to a move for James Rodriguez, needing a burst of creativity in the final third following Luis Alberto’s departure. The club were linked with a move for Manchester United exile Mason Greenwood but failed to agree terms, leaving him to join Olympique Marseille.

Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) details how James Rodriguez wouldn’t come cheap should Lazio want to pursue a deal, wanting a contract worth circa €4 million net per season plus add-ons. His Agent Jorge Mendes wants a €5 million fee as well, further complicating matters.

Despite this, the Biancocelesti are still open to a move for the 33-year-old, but he’s seemingly not a priority at this stage.
