Lazio to Swoop for Rising Metz Youngster

Lazio are reportedly preparing an onslaught for young Metz midfielder Lamine Camara. The Biancocelesti have been bolstering their ranks with young profiles since the start of the summer and will be looking to make the Senegalese starlet their latest acquisition.

According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Camara is on the Biancocelesti’s radars as the Sporting Director Angelo Fabiani continues to search the market for enticing opportunities. The 20-year-old is a central midfielder who can also play in a more advanced role. He combines technical skills with strong physical attributes.

Lazio Studying a Move for Lamine Camara

As the source explains, the Senegalese has an imposing presence in the middle of the park, despite his relatively short height (173 cm). Camara started his career in his home country before making the move to France through the gates of Metz in February 2023. Last summer, he earned a promotion to the first team and contributed with two goals and eight assists in 38 appearances.

The midfielder also boasts an impressive international record given his tender age, already representing Senegal’s senior team in 23 caps and scoring six goals in the process. The youngster’s current market value is circa €15 million. Nevertheless, Metz’s relegation to Ligue 2 could drive his price down. His contract with the club is valid until June 2026.

The report believes Lazio will be keen to sign Camara this summer, especially if they manage to offload some of their current midfielders. In addition to the deadwood like Toma Basic and Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro, the club could also part ways with Danilo Cataldi who is reportedly unhappy with how he was snubbed for the captaincy in favour of Mattia Zaccagni.
