Atalanta Keeping Tabs on Wingers From Lazio & Fiorentina

Atalanta are exploring the market in search of a new winger, and have now reportedly set their sights on Lazio’s Gustav Isaksen.

The Dane joined the Italian capital side last summer, completing a switch from Midtjylland. The 23-year-old’s maiden campaign in the peninsula was a true rollercoaster. Just when he was beginning to hit stride under Maurizio Sarri and earn regular playing time, the Italian manager resigned from his post and was replaced by Igor Tudor who didn’t fancy working with the player.

During the Croatian’s short reign at Formello, Isaksen was almost completely overlooked, and many believed that his time in Rome was all but over. Nevertheless, Tudor’s swift departure gave the winger a new lease on life. He’s now aiming to prove his worth for new Lazio manager Marco Baroni.

But in the meantime, Quotidiano Sportivo (via LazioSpace) claims that Atalanta are interested in Isaksen. Gian Piero Gasperini is looking to add a winger to his ranks, so the Orobici are now studying their options. In addition to Isaksen, the Europa League winners are also monitoring Fiorentina star Nico Gonzalez.

The source adds that Lazio value the Danish winger at €12 million, which is the same figure they splashed to sign him last summer. Isaksen’s contract with the Biancoceleseti is valid until June 2028.
