Lazio Plan Shock Swoop for Juventus Outcast But Face Uphill Task

Lazio is the latest club to be linked with Juventus star Federico Chiesa who has been bluntly told to find a new club. The 26-year-old has been considered among the Old Lady’s main protagonists since arriving at the club in 2020.

However, new Juventus coach Thiago Motta deems the Italian inapt to his tactical system, so he has recently made it clear that the player doesn’t have a place in his plans ahead of the new season. Moreover, Chiesa’s contract will expire in 2025, giving the Juventus management another key motive to offload him this summer.

Lazio Plotting a Move For Chiesa?

According to Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Lazio are intrigued by the notion of signing the Euro 2020 hero. He would thus follow in the footsteps of his father Enrico Chiesa who represented the Biancocelesti during his playing days, albeit for a single campaign.

However, the source notes that the Italian capital side will be facing a daunting mission, as the player’s current salary is unattainable. Chiesa earns circa €6 million at Juventus. On the other hand, Lazio are only able to offer wages worth €4 million, including bonuses, on a four-year contract.

Therefore, the report believes this could be a far-fetched plan for Lazio, especially if other top suitors were to enter the fray. Chiesa has been linked with the likes of Roma, Napoli, Inter Milan, Chelsea and Tottenham, but has yet to receive a concrete offer.

  1. This is a name u go all out to sign..chiesa is gem and I hope lotito pushes his boundaries to add him to lazio ranks

    1. Chiesa is out of reach for Lazio. Tito’s max offer to Juve will be around 20M€ and for Chiesa 4M€ per year, thats not enough. He will go to Inter, Napoli or roma.

      1. They would take even 15 and Simone would play him out of position at Inter as LWB so unless Conte wants him (and he has Kvara who is signing a new contract) or Spurs(for the £) we can get him.

Question is with Zaccagni on our left, do we need him? Yes he can play on the right but there we just got Tchaouna and we have also Issaksen . and then we’ve got Noslin too.

If he will be deployed as traqueartista maybe but yh…

  2. I doubt Chiesa will get any offer that will be able to match what he’s receiving at Juventus. And to think that he wasn’t contented with that but was asking for a rise in order to extend he’s contract at the club. The earlier he sort out his next move the better for everyone

  3. Lotito, after messing up Greenwood(twice) bringing Chiesa and Roque might even get the Ultras stop saying va***e and another 5 possible even 10k new season tickets

    1. Even the willingness to sign Greenwood was an awful choice. Even if he would’ve done great things, Lazio would never had gotten credit for it internationally as all it would talk about is Greenwood’s misdeeds. With our international reputation being dubious at best, this was a terrible PR move. And also which makes Lotito look like a total hypocrite, due to Lazio participating in:

I hope that Lotito never shows his face there again. We’ve passed that stage now, no more virtue signaling.

  4. Would definitely be an interesting signing. Doubt financially Lazio will be willing to put enough money on the table to make this move. Also the new strategy seems highly focused on bringing in as many non-Italians as possible. This would go against that strategy.
