Young Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Enso Gonzalez becomes the latest teenager to be linked with a possible move to Lazio this summer.
Biancocelesti President Claudio Lotito promised to buy a new player born in 2005 earlier this summer, so news outlets have been on a mission to decipher the identity of the newcomer. The list includes the likes of Barcelona’s Vitor Roque, Real Betis’ Assane Diao and Sunderland’s Jobe Bellingham.
But now, there’s yet another new name on the block, as Il Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) claims that the Italian capital side is tracking Wolves teenager Enso Gonzalez despite recently suffering an ACL injury.
Lazio Set Sights On Wolves Youngster Enso Gonzalez
The young Paraguayan started his career in his native country with Libertad before being poached by the Premier League side last summer for €6 million. He represented the Wolves’ U21 side in the Premier League 2 but also made a single appearance with the senior team in the EPL.
This summer, Gonzalez also represented Uruguay at the Olympic Games, but his tournament ended with an ACL injury suffered against Israel on the second matchday of the group stage. As a result, he will likely be sidelined for at least three months.
The 19-year-old is a left-footed player who mostly plays as a left winger, but can also feature on the other flank or as an attacking winger. His contract with the English side is valid until June 2029.
Unfortunately Lazio will have to wait to make a bid for Enso Gonzalez of Wolves as he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury to his right knee whilst playing for Uruguay at the Olympics earlier this month, August 2024 which will likely keep him out of action for 3 months minimum!
Obviously this journalist and Il Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) did not do their research before penning this article!!!
Adding players to shortlist doesn’t cost a thing, that’s just how Lotito likes it 🙂
Tired of all these rumors, same thing is going to happen as all these past seasons, player gets signed too late, then he comes in and is way behind everyone else and doesn’t perform.
I get the feeing Lotito is trying to copy Atalanta, having success forming young players and selling for millions. Good luck with that.
