Lazio and Napoli are reportedly in talks as they try to find an agreement over the transfer of Michael Folorunsho.

This has been quite an eventful summer for the 26-year-old. It began with an arguably surprising call-up for Italy’s Euro 2024 squad on the back of an excellent campaign on loan at Hellas Verona. The midfielder then rejoined his parent club Napoli and penned a new contract, but has been recently omitted from Antonio Conte’s plans.

Luckily for the Italian, his former club Lazio is offering him an escape rope. The Biancocelesti are looking to add a new midfielder to the fold, and Marco Baroni would love to reunite with his old Reggina and Verona pupil.

Lazio & Napoli Negotiating Folorunsho Transfer

According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Napoli and Lazio are currently engaged in talks for Folorunsho. The Partenopei are eager to sell the wantaway midfielder to make room for new arrivals.

The source claims Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has requested €12 million in addition to bonuses, but could eventually accept €12m that includes add-ons. Nevertheless, the fixed part of the transfer fee must not be below €10 million.

As for the player, he currently earns €1 million per year following his recent renewal, and he would expect a net salary of €1.3 upon his return to the Italian capital.

Regarding the formula, Italian journalist Damiano Er Faina reveals that Lazio were hoping for an initial loan move with an option to purchase his contract at the end of the season, but De Laurentiis is holding out for an obligation to buy.

The source adds that Juventus have also inquired about Folorunsho.
