Lazio might not be alone in the race for Sassuolo star Armand Lauriente, as Juventus and Roma have reportedly entered the fray.

The 25-year-old joined the Emilian club in 2022 from Lorient and made quite an impression in his debut Serie A campaign. Nevertheless, the Neroverdi faltered last term in a disastrous season that culminated in relegation. Hence, the Frenchman is hoping to leave the Mapei Stadium towards greener pastures before the end of the transfer session.

In recent months, Lauriente has been heavily linked with a move to Lazio, but club president Claudio Lotito has been unwilling to meet Sassuolo’s asking price which is set at €15 million, instead offering €10 million with bonuses.

The two parties haven’t been able to bridge the gap just yet, putting the deal on ice while the Biancocelesti focus on bolstering other playing roles by pursuing Salernitana striker Boulaye Dia and Napoli midfielder Michael Folorunsho.

Nevertheless, the delay could prove costly, as TuttoMercatoWeb (via LazioNews24) claims that Lazio have some company in the race between Italy and abroad. The source reveals that Juventus and Roma have both inquired about Lauriente in recent days. Moreover, Olympique Marseille could offer the winger the opportunity to return to his native country.

The Rennes youth product is a right-footed player who enjoys playing on the left as an inverted winger. His contract with Sassuolo is valid until June 2027.
