Lazio have reportedly snubbed the opportunity to sign Juventus out-of-favour striker Arkadiusz Milik who was offered to the Italian capital side.
Similar to the Biancocelesti, the Bianconeri are undergoing major changes. They have appointed Thiago Motta as their new head coach, and the latter immediately omitted a host of first-team stars upon his arrival, including Federico Chiesa.
Although some reports have been tipping Milik to be reinstated in the squad due to the lack of attacking options, the Pole remains an outcast in Turin, and according to Il Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), the 30-year-old has been offered to Lazio in recent days.
Arkadiusz Milik Rejected to Focus on Signing Boulaye Dia
Nevertheless, the source reveals that the Biancocelesti weren’t interested. Lazio President Claudio Lotito and Sporting Director Angelo Fabiani immediately rejected the opportunity to sign Milik, as they preferred to focus their efforts on landing Boulaye Dia.
The Senegalese striker has been a transfer target for the club since the start of the summer, but Lazio have now accelerated their attempts to secure his signature. The Aquile are currently negotiating a deal with Salernitana while their fans are eager to see the back of the 27-year-old due to brewing tensions since last season which reached its climax in a recent Coppa Italia tie.
As for Milik, this isn’t the first time he has been linked with a move to Lazio. Last summer, Maurizio Sarri was keen to reunite with his old Napoli pupil at Formello, but Juventus eventually kept him on a permanent transfer following his initial loan stint.
