Official: Parma Sign Lazio Winger Matteo Cancellieri on Loan

Lazio winger Matteo Cancellieri has signed for Parma on loan with an option to buy. Both clubs confirmed the transfer through official statements.

The 22-year-old is a youth product of Roma who enjoyed his breakthrough at Hellas Verona in 2021/22, thus earning himself a move to Lazio in the summer of 2022. But after failing to get much playing at Maurizio Sarri’s court, the Biancocelesti sent him on loan to Empoli last summer where he enjoyed a positive campaign, playing a key role in the Tuscan club’s dramatic last-gasp survival.

Cancellieri Joins Parma on Loan

Despite the managerial change, Cancellieri still found himself an exile in Marco Baroni’s squad, so he has now completed a loan switch to Parma as stated by an official note published on Lazio’s official website.

SS Lazio announces that it has temporarily transferred, with an option to purchase, the rights to the sporting performances of Matteo Cancellieri to Parma Calcio 1913.

While the official statement didn’t speak about too many details on the operation, La Lazio Siamo Noi reveals that Parma will pay Lazio €1 million as a loan fee. The newly promoted Serie A club will then have the option to buy the winger for a figure of around €9 million at the end of the season. Cancellieri’s contract with Lazio runs until June 2027.
