Napoli midfielder Michael Folorunsho is hellbent on rejoining Lazio before the end of the summer. However, the capital side must first untie a knot.

According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà, the Biancocelesti will immediately shift their attention towards the Italy international after finalizing the transfer of Boulaye Dia. He expects a new meeting to ensue between the weekend and the start of next week to close the deal.

Hence, the 26-year-old won’t be available at Marco Baroni’s disposal for the club’s Serie A opener against Venezia.

Lazio & Folorunsho Eager to Reunite

Il Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) notes that the previous meeting between the Aquile and the player’s agent Mario Giuffredi had set the conditions for the transfer, but a new round of talks is still required, as the agreement remains unripe.

The Roman newspaper adds that Lazio must also overcome an important roadblock in order to put the deal over the line. The Biancocelesti still need to sell some of the deadwood to raise the necessary transfer funds for the operation.

Falling Out With Antonio Conte

Folorunsho is coming off a brilliant campaign on loan at Hellas Verona, but new Napoli coach Antonio Conte doesn’t wish to rely on his services. Hence, the midfielder is eager to make his return to Lazio where he had developed his game as a youngster before being released in 2017.

The Partnenopei are requesting €12 million to part ways with the Italy international, while Lazio are gunning for a two-year loan deal with an obligation to buy.
