Lazio Form Guide: Recent Results

When it comes to pre-season, we can only talk about a form guide with a pinch of salt. Nevertheless, the Biancocelesti have registered positive results in their summer friendlies. This includes comfortable wins over Tripani, Hansa and Frosinone, and a hard-fought draw against Southampton at St. Marry’s Stadium.

Lazio even won a gigantic trophy by beating Cadiz in their final pre-season test. So Baroni will be hoping that his club bow begins with a win, and the schedule provided him with a relatively humble opponent at home in the shape of the newly-promoted Venezia. Hence, the Aquile supporters won’t settle for anything less than three points.

Venezia Form Guide: Recent Results

Venezia secured promotion to the top flight by prevailing in the Serie B playoffs last June. The Venetians had a decent pre-season, with the highlight being a 1-0 win over Utrecht. However, their first official fixture of the campaign began with a disappointing elimination from the Coppa Italia at the hands of Brescia.

The Lagunari will be looking to put their cup woes behind them and register a positive result at the Olimpico. Nevertheless, Di Francesco’s squad remains somewhat incomplete, and will probably have to do without their influential stars Joel Pohjanpalo and Gianluca Busio who remain short on match fitness, as well as Tanner Tessmann who has been omitted for market reasons.

  1. Encouraging pre-season results and a fresh approach. Definitely sad to see Immobile, Luis Alberto and Anderson go, but there always comes a time.
    Andiamo ragazzi e Forza Lazio!!
