10-Man Udinese Cling to Victory Over Uninspired Lazio

Lazio suffered their first defeat of the season as they failed to produce the goods against Udinese at the Bluenergy Stadium.

First Half: Udinese 1-0 Lazio

Similar to their previous outing against Venezia, the Biancocelesti conceded an early goal as Florien Thauvin’s sensational cross met the colossal Lorenzo Lucca who directed his header towards goal.

But unlike last week, Marco Baroni’s men couldn’t quite recover from the early blow. Lazio hardly managed to threaten their hosts during the first half, with their most prominent opportunity being an Alessio Romagnoli header that was cleared off the line.

Second Half: Udinese 2-1 Lazio

The second half started in a similar fashion, with the Zebrette finding the back of the net rather swiftly. Thuavin cemented himself as the ultimate star of the show with a daring run through the middle that exposed Baroni’s feeble defenses, before comfortably slotting the ball home past Ivan Provedel.

Nevertheless, Gustav Isaksen’s introduction proved fruitful, as Hassane Kamara got himself sent off while trying to stop the Lazio winger with a nasty tackle. The visitors then dominated the action and had several chances to score, but had to wait until the 94th minute to halve the deficit. Isaksen pounced on the rebound to score a tap-in, but it was too little too late to save the day.

Therefore, Lazio’s first away trip culminated with a 1-2 defeat that highlighted several issues that must be addressed sooner rather than later.

  1. I predicted this outcome, I knew exactly what would happen coz this lazio team lacks depth with the kind of formation they playing.
4-3-3 Never worked under marriage what makes u think it would under baroni?
Tudor employed the 3-5-2 and the team was fluid. In seria A if u can’t controll the midfield u fucked. Udinese played the 3-4-2-1 and they kept getting us on th3 counter coz all our LB and RB keep pushing deep exposing the CB. the earlier we switch the the 3 back or use the right players for the 4-3-3 if not when we face strong teams we r doomed to fail.
