Lazio Eyeing Udinese Defender to Bolster Backline

Lazio have reportedly set their sights on Udinese stalwart Jaka Bijol, especially following the unconvincing displays of their centre-back duo last weekend…

The Biancocelesti suffered their first defeat of the Serie A campaign on Saturday as they came up short against the Zebrette at the Bluenergy Stadium. Marco Baroni’s men were impeded by the performances of their defenders Alessio Romagnoli and Nicolo Casale who were at fault for both goals conceded.

On the contrary, Bijol looked solid at the back for the Friulians, as he prevailed in his personal duel against Taty Castellanos.

Lazio Hoping to Pull Off Late Bijol Coup

According to Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Lazio are considering revamping their backline in the final days of the summer transfer session. The source claims the club would be willing to listen to offers for Casale, and if they manage to offload the former Hellas Verona man, they will attempt to sign Bijol as a replacement.

The Slovenian is a very popular figure amongst Lazio management, who have been keeping an eye on the Udinese defender for quite some time. The 25-year-old has been a pillar at the back for the Zebrette since making the move from CSKA Moscow in the summer of 2022. His contract with the Venetian club is valid until June 2027.

All in all, it remains to be seen if Lazio would have enough time on their hands to pull off what would be a sensational overhaul.

  1. Lazio problem clear not on the back line it is so clear in the middle Gandozi marucice and vaccinio they are not good defenders and they do not know to pass to the front line always balls comes from goalkeeper or any high air ball ball they do not have the ability to use heads to return the ball like Slavic before
