Lazio Determined to Sign Napoli Wantaway Despite Bologna Competition

Lazio are still pushing to secure an agreement with Napoli midfielder Michael Folorunsho who has also emerged as a potential target for Bologna.

The 26-year-old is coming off an impressive campaign on loan at Hellas Verona which earned him a spot in Italy’s Euro 2024 squad. However, the Roman failed to win the favour of Antonio Conte who omitted him from his plans, forcing him to find a new club before the summer ends.

For their part, Lazio have been trying to reunite Marco Baroni with his old Reggina and Verona pupil. The midfielder was also a youth product of the Biancocelesti before being released back in 2017; however, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio and Napoli have yet to find an agreement on the transfer formula.

Lazio Still Optimistic on Folorunsho

Previous reports mentioned that the Italian capital side is seeking an initial loan with an option to buy for circa €10 million. Nevertheless, DAZN reporter Orazio Accomando believes the contacts between the two clubs are still ongoing, as Lazio are hoping to find a definitive solution in the next few days.

The journalist reveals that the Biancocelesti are confident in reaching the finish line despite facing competition from Bologna who have recently entered the fray. The Emilians are preparing for their maiden Champions League campaign following last season’s historic qualification, but they started their Serie A campaign on a slow note under Vicenzo Italiano’s guidance.
