Lazio Working on Deadline-Day Swoops for Udinese & Wolfsburg Midfielders

Lazio are reportedly planning a double coup in the middle of the park on deadline day, as they try to acquire the services of Sandi Lovric and Aster Vranckx.

According to DAZN journalist Orazio Accomando, the Biancocelesti are in advanced negotiations with Udinese for Lovric. The two clubs are still trying to reach a definitive agreement over the transfer figure. Lazio have already made way for the 26-year-old’s arrival by offloading Danilo Cataldi who is now set to sign for Fiorentina.

Lovric was born and raised in Austria, and represented the nation throughout various age groups. But in the end, he declared for his country of origin, Slovenia, on the senior level. The central midfielder signed for Udinese on a free transfer in the summer of 2022 following a stint at Lugano. His contract with the Zebrette runs until 2027.

Lazio Tracking Lovric & Vranckx on Deadline Day

On the other hand, TuttoMercatoWeb claims the Biancocelesti are targeting Wolfsburg’s Vranckx who is known in Italy for a rather forgettable loan spell at Milan in 2022/23. Nevertheless, the Belgium international remains a highly-regarded youngster. The 21-year-old has been linked with a host of clubs this summer, including Napoli, Bologna, Fiorentina and Aston Villa.

The midfielder’s contract with the Bundesliga club will expire at the end of the season, so he could be available for €10 million. Lazio are reportedly offering Vranckx a four-year contract with an option for a fifth. The source also believes that the Belgian’s arrival could close the door on Michael Folorunsho’s potential move from Napoli to Lazio.
