Official: Nicolo Casale Joins Bologna on Loan From Lazio

Lazio have officially announced the departure of Nicolo Casale who signed for Bologna on loan with an option to buy.

The 26-year-old is a youth product of Hellas Verona who enjoyed his breakthrough at the Stadio Bentegodi in the 2021/22 campaign, which earned him a move to the Italian capital side in the following summer. The Italian had his highs and lows over the past two campaigns but started the current one on a low note.

Therefore, Lazio felt the need to shake up their defensive ranks, so they decided to offload Casale and acquire Marseille veteran Samuel Gigot in his stead. Bologna decided to pounce on the opportunity and they have now secured the signature of the Italian centre-back.

Lazio Send Casale to Bologna on Loan

Casale is joining Vincenzo Italiano’s squad on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season, confirms the statement published on Lazio’s official website.

SS Lazio announces that it has temporarily transferred, with option right, for one sporting season, the sporting contract of the footballer Nicolò Casale to Bologna FC.

The latter Company will have an obligation to transform the transfer from temporary to permanent upon the occurrence of certain sporting conditions.

While the official note didn’t reveal any more details, previous reports claimed Bologna would pay €1.5 as loan fees, while the option to buy is worth €6.5 million and will be triggered if the Emilians manage to qualify for any European competition by the end of the season.
