Galatasaray Made Offer to Sign Arsenal-Owned Left-Back From Lazio

Galatasaray reportedly launched a sensational attempt to sign Lazio left-back Nuno Tavares.

The Biancocelesti only recently brought in the 24-year-old, securing his services on loan until the end of the season from Arsenal with an obligation to buy that will be activated on certain conditions.

Yet, the Turkish giants still decided to try their luck by presenting Lazio with an offer for the Portuguese full-back, reveals Italian football journalist Alfredo Pedullà.

Lazio Reject Galatasaray Offer for Nuno Tavares

Nevertheless, the Italian capital side immediately turned down the proposal, as the club had no plans to relinquish Tavares only a couple of months following his arrival.

Moreover, the former Olympique Marseille star is coming off a Man-of-the-Match performance against Milan on his Serie A debut. The left-back only recently returned from an injury he sustained early in pre-season, and many feared he wasn’t fit enough to start against the Rossoneri.

However, Tavares put on a brilliant display on his Lazio bow. He was the main catalyst behind the team’s second-half comeback, producing two sublime assists for Taty Castellanos and Boulaye Dia following menacing runs on the left flank.

On this evidence, the Aquile are expecting a resounding campaign from the Arsenal-owned fullback, so they certainly don’t intend to deprive themselves of his services at this stage, especially since they can no longer sign a replacement following last Friday’s deadline day.
