Lazio midfielder Toma Basic has a new suitor in the shape of Antalyaspor according to the latest rumors in Turkish media.

The 27-year-old has been on the Biancocelesti’s books since making the move from Bordeaux in the summer of 2021. But sadly for the Croatian, he never managed to cement himself as a pillar at the Stadio Olimpico.

After spending the second half of the previous campaign at Salernitana, he returned to Formello this summer only to find himself an exile at Marco Baroni’s court.

Anatalyaspor Emerges as Latest Basic Suitor

Basic has been omitted from both Serie A and Europa League squad lists. The midfielder has been recently linked with a return to Hajduk Split, but he caused a stir by publicly blaming Lazio President Claudio Lotito for blocking the operation.

But with a return to Croatia now dead in the water, Turkey appears to be his last resort, as the transfer market in the country remains open until September 13th.

According to Akdenizmanset (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Antalyaspor have set their sights on the Lazio exile, and they’re now trying to convince him to join. For their part, Lazio will be hoping the deal goes through before deadline day, as it would allow them to trim their squad and lower the wage bill.

  1. In the same time, we are already short on midfielders. So if Basic is out(which I don’t oppose) the next best is Akpa Akpro ..or worst Andre Anderson . These 2 need to get themselves a team where they can play, otherwise they won’t do much, as in not gonna play football.
