Lazio have reportedly recorded a financial profit worth just above €40 million in 2023-24.
Calcio e Finanza delved into the club’s finances, revealing how the Biancocelesti managed to bounce back from 2022-23 which ended in the red, to register positive results last year.
As the source explains, Lazio suffered financial losses worth €29.5 million in 2022-23. The club participated in the Europa League during that season and was eventually demoted to the UEFA Conference League after finishing third in the group.
Lazio Record Profit Thanks to UEFA Champions League Participation
Nevertheless, Lazio’s return to the Champions League in the 2023-24 season refreshed the club’s coffers. The club announced the half-yearly report, and it includes a profit worth €40.1 million. This is mostly thanks to TV rights generated from their UCL participation. This particular income stream witnessed a 131% increase compared to the previous campaign.
Lazio’s Champions League adventure yielded €94.1 million, raising the club’s overall revenues to €158.8 million. The source also adds that Lazio registered gains worth €40 million on the transfer market, mostly thanks to Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s switch to Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal.
The club’s balance sheet still has to be approved by the general assembly which will gather on September 20th, explains the report.
