Lazio striker Taty Castellanos sustained what appears to be a slight knock during his side’s 2-1 victory over Hellas Verona.
The Argentine was on target for the second match in a row, scoring the winner for Marco Baroni’s men in their most recent outing, thus raising his season tally to three goals. However, he had to leave his place on the pitch in the 66th minute due to an injury scare.
Lazio have released a statement on the club’s official website, confirming that the player suffered a muscular problem:
The SS Lazio medical staff announces that Valentin Castellanos underwent clinical and instrumental tests today at the Villa Mafalda Clinic. These tests revealed an edema from muscle overload affecting the adductors of the left thigh.
The player has already started the specific treatment of the case and will be subjected to daily clinical monitoring. Further instrumental tests will be repeated in the next few days to clarify the recovery times.
Lazio Reveal Castellanos Injury
Lazio will be hoping that the upcoming tests would offer some solace on this font, which would allow the 25-year-old to return to the pitch and perhaps make himself available for the Fiorentina clash this weekend. Meanwhile, Marco Baroni is already making alternative plans in case he were to be deprived of Castellanos’ services in Florence.
The Lazio coach would rely on Boulaye Dia to lead the attack, and bring in one between Tijjani Noslin and Gaetano Castrovilli in the attacking-midfield slot; The Italian could be the favorite for the domestic contest since he’s out of the club’s Europa League list.
