Lazio are reportedly making concrete steps in their plans to own and renovate the Stadio Flaminio.
Club President Claudio Lotito has been tirelessly working on this front for quite some time, and as Il Messaggero (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) reports, the project is finally beginning to take shape.
Lazio Making Progress in Stadio Flaminio Project
The source explains that the Biancocelesti are now ready to team up with a famous company named “Legend” that specializes in building and maintaining sports venues.
The source claims the two parties have already signed a business partnership, one that includes a feasibility study for the Stadio Flaminio. Legend would then become the project manager and would take care of the ticketing service, merchandising management, retail sales and the search to find a naming sponsor, with Emirates reportedly interested in the project.
On another note, Lazio must secure an agreement with the municipality of Rome before the deadline set on October 20th. Nevertheless, Lotito insists he’s already ahead of schedule, at least based on the quotes reported by the source.
You’ll see what I’m coming up with. I’ll go well beyond the commitment I made.
Moreover, the source reveals that the cost of the operation will be between €250 and €300 million. The new stadium would have a capacity between 45,000 and 49,000 seats; the source also mentions two architectural proposals regarding the roofing and sound filters for large events and concerts.
There should be some interesting developments on this front in the next few weeks.
