After making the move from Lazio in the summer, Daichi Kamada has been enduring a torrid start to his new experience at Crystal Palace, with a section of the club’s fanbase already giving up on him.

The 28-year-old rose to prominence during his time at Eintracht Frankfurt. His stint in Germany reached its pinnacle in the 2021/22 campaign when he helped the club achieve Europa League glory.

After seeing out his contract with the Bundesliga side, Kamada signed for Lazio as a free agent. He penned a one-year-old contract with an option to extend it for another three years. But despite Claudio Lotito’s attempts, the Japanese midfielder eventually opted against triggering the clause, instead completing his second Bosman move in as many summers.

Crystal Palace Fans Irked By Poor Kamada Displays

Kamada thus reunited with his old Frankfurt coach Oliver Glasner at Crystal Palace, but the duo have yet to recapture the magic of their initial collaboration. Instead, the former Lazio man has been struggling to deliver the goods, failing to make a single goal contribution in six Premier League appearances. His only strike came in a 4-0 victory over Norwich in the Carabao Cup.

So as La Lazio Siamo Noi reveals, Crystal Palace fans are already fed up with the Japan international. Some of the Eagles’ supporters described him as a “terrible” player, while others are even blaming him for the team’s shortcomings thus far this season. The Glaziers currently sit 18th in the table with only three points in six rounds.

Kamada also suffered a slow start to life at Lazio under the guidance of Maurizio Sarri, but his form comprehensively improved upon the arrival of Igor Tudor in March.

  1. I don’t remember I have ever said this before, definitely never for a former Lazio player but Kamada, I have absolutely ZERO sympathy for this guy.

    He can do one ‼️
