Lazio were hoping to earn a famous result against Juventus at the Allianz Stadium but returned from Turin empty-handed after being impeded by the circumstances.
Alessio Romagnoli & Mario Gila Blunders Prove Costly
Marco Baroni’s side was reduced to 10 men following Alessio Romagnoli’s dismissal. The Italian defender caught his former Milan teammate with a sliding tackle, preventing him from reaching Ivan Provedel’s goal. The Lazio centre-back thus received his marching orders following a VAR review.
The Biancocelesti held valiantly at the back and prevented Thiago Motta’s men from creating too many opportunities, but Mario Gila’s own goal put an abrupt end to the capital side’s stand. Therefore, Lazio’s two central defenders received the lowest notes in the player ratings of the most renowned newspapers in Italy. Their grades varied between 4/10 and 5/10.
Nicolo Rovella & Ivan Provedel Shine
On the other hand, Nicolo Rovella received the highest rating overall, as Il Messaggero rated his performance as a 7.5/10, while La Gazzetta dello Sport chose Ivan Provedel as the Man of the Match with a 6.5/10 grade.
So here are the ratings handed by the Italian media to the Lazio players for their losing effort against Juventus (via La Lazio Siamo Noi).

I must say, 2 out of 3 away matches were drastically influenced by referring and VAR (in a negative way obviously) so I am not looking forward to our next away fixtures.
Plus, mind you, Juve at home are not allowed to lose by the referees!
