Lazio forward Tijjani Noslin will miss the team’s next two Europa League contests after being handed a three-match ban by UEFA’s disciplinary committee.

Tijjani Noslin’s Red Card Incident

The incident occurred on the first matchday of the competition when the Biancocelesti clashed heads with Dynamo Kyiv in Hamburg. The Dutchman entered the pitch in the 79th minute, but his cameo only lasted for three minutes, as he received his marching orders for elbowing Vladyslav Dubinchak. Luckily for Lazio, they were already 3-0 up at that point, and the result remained intact.

According to ANSA (via Calciomercato), UEFA has decided to hand Noslin a three-match ban. The 25-year-old already sat out the previous European fixture against Nice which ended in a 4-1 victory for Marco Baroni’s men.

Therefore, his suspension will remain valid for the next two Europa League clashes against Twente (October 24th) and Porto (November 7th). Noslin will then return to the fold in the home contest against Ludogorets on November 28th.

Lazio Unlikely to Appeal Decision

La Lazio Siamo Noi adds that Lazio have opted against appealing the decision, as they believe the footage is telling enough, and they’re unlikely to overturn the decision. UEFA is also rigid in its application of the rules when it comes to violent conduct, so a three-match ban is considered the minimum punishment in similar cases.

Baroni often uses the European competition to hand some valuable playing time for those who rarely feature as starters in Serie A. Hence, Noslin will be disappointed to miss several opportunities to prove his worth.
