The Lazio scouts were reportedly present at the U-Power Stadium on Sunday afternoon to keep an eye on Monza midfielder Warren Bondo.

While the Biancocelesti were hosting Genoa at the Stadio Olimpico, the Biancorossi were locking horns with Venezia in Brianza. The encounter between the two Serie A strugglers ended in a 2-2 draw.

According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Lazio took the opportunity to scout Bondo from the stands who was ironically sent off in the final minutes. The 21-year-old has been a regular feature in Alessandro Nesta’s starting lineup since the start of the season. He has thus far made nine Serie A appearances – eight as a starter – in addition to two Coppa Italia outings.

Lazio Monitoring Monza Youngster Bondo

The young Frenchman started his career at Bretigny before joining AS Nancy’s youth ranks in 2018. Monza then swooped in for the midfielder in the summer of 2022 following their promotion to the top flight, and then sent him on a brief loan spell to Reggina between January and June 2023.

The young midfielder’s playing time has been increasing with every new season, and his dynamic displays in the middle of the park could lead him to a bigger club sooner rather than later. For their part, Lazio have been increasingly relying on young players, especially following their major summer revamp. Hence, Bondo would fit in well in their new project.
