The Lega Serie A has unveiled the official times and dates for matchdays 19 and 20, setting up a special edition of the Derby della Capitale between Roma and Lazio.

Both fanbases consider this fixture as the most important of the season regardless of the circumstances. But this term, they will be forced to wait until the very last round of the first half to witness the much-anticipated clash between the two capital sides.

Nevertheless, the upcoming edition of the Derby will be different from its predecessors, as it will be held at night for the first time in three years, notes La Lazio Siamo Noi. Lega Serie A announced that Roma and Lazio will lock horns at the Stadio Olimpico on January 5th, and the kickoff has been set at 20:45 local time.

Roma & Lazio to Clash Heads at Night

The last time the two arch-rivals met in the evening dates back to January 15th, 2021. However, that contest was played behind closed doors due to the restrictions imposed during the Covid-19 period. Local authorities often prefer to run the match during the afternoon for security reasons, but the organizers have now changed their habit.

The Lega Serie A also revealed that Lazio will host Como in the opening fixture of matchday 20. The contest will take place on Friday 10th, January, and will kickstart at 20:45 local time. The Biancocelesti will be looking to complete the double over the Lombardians after dismantling them by five goals to one in their most recent outing.
