A report from Colombia claims Lazio are once again considering signing James Rodriguez who could end his experience at Rayo Vallecano prematurely.
The attacking midfielder rose to stardom during his early career years at Porto and Monaco. He was also one of the main revelations of the 2014 World Cup, which earned a big-money move to Real Madrid. The Colombian then went on to represent Bayern Munich and Everton, but his career has been dwindling over the past few years.
After experiences in Qatar, Greece and Brazil, Rodriguez revitalized his fading reputation with a string of impressive performances for Colombia in last summer’s Copa America. Therefore, the 33-year-old was being linked with several clubs around Europe, including Lazio, but eventually ended up signing for Rayo Vallecano.
Lazio Pondering Move for James Rodriguez Once Again
However, James’ grand return to La Liga hasn’t panned out as hoped, as he has only made five league appearances thus far, only one as a starter. So according to the latest reports in Colombia (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), the player could soon terminate his contract with the Spanish club, paving the way for another free transfer.
Moreover, AS Colombia Editor Steven Acre claims Lazio have reignited their interest in the former Real Madrid star, as they’re currently evaluating the player’s situation before deciding whether or not to pursue him.
