Lazio summer signing Gaetano Castrovilli went under the knife as announced by a note published on the club’s official website.
The 27-year-old has been enduring rough times with injuries over the past few years which eventually led to his Fiorentina release last summer. The Biancocelesti decided to take a chance on the Euro 2020 winner and sign him on a free transfer, but the midfielder has yet to hit his stride in the Italian capital.

The Italy international was hoping to reach his optimal condition and showcase his worth to the cause, but was instead dealt with by another injury blow during a training session. Castrovilli sustained a meniscus problem that forced him to undergo surgery on Friday. Nevertheless, the club expects him to return to training in two weeks.
SS Lazio announces that Gaetano Castrovilli underwent an arthroscopy surgery today on the medial meniscus of the left lower limb. The footballer will be subjected to daily clinical monitoring and is expected to return to field activities in two weeks, as per medical certification.
