Lazio coach Marco Baroni will reportedly tweak his team’s tactical setup for Sunday’s Serie A contest against Monza.
The Biancocelesti will be looking to extend their purple patch against Alessandro Nesta’s side which resides in 19th place in the standings. But with less than 72 hours separating this contest from Lazio’s Europa League clash against Porto, restoring energy levels remains Baroni’s most challenging task.
Lazio To Switch to 4-3-3 Against Monza
According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, the 61-year-old is set to change his formation from the usual 4-2-3-1 to a 4-3-3. Taty Castellanos could be rested, with Boulaye Dia acting as a centre-forward. Pedro’s heroics against Porto could earn him another starting spot, but this time on the right wing, while club captain Mattia Zaccagni operates on the left.
Matias Vecino Joins Midfield Three
Matias Vecino will act as an additional midfielder alongside the tried-and-tested duo of Nicolo Rovella and Matteo Guendouzi. In the full-backs slots, Adam Marusic will be favored over Manuel Lazzari who recently returned from injury, while Nuno Tavares should occupy the other flank as usual.
Patric Back in the Squad
The source expects Patric to return to the squad after overcoming a slight physical problem, but he’ll remain outside the starting lineup, as Mario Gila teams up with Alessio Romagnoli at the heart of the backline, while Ivan Provedel retains his place between the sticks.
Lazio Probable XI (4-3-3): Provedel; Marusic, Gila, Romagnoli, Tavares; Guendouzi, Rovella, Vecino; Pedro, Dia, Zaccagni.
