Lazio coach Marco Baroni will reportedly opt for a 4-3-3 formation against Bologna after deploying this system in the previous encounter against Monza.

Lazio to Keep 4-3-3 System

The Biancocelesti prevailed in the final fixture before the international break thanks to Mattia Zaccagni’s fabulous strike which extended the club’s golden run to 10 wins in their last 11 fixtures across all competitions. So according to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Baroni has decided to maintain the same system, dropping the tried-and-tested 4-2-3-1 formation.

Luca Pellegrini to Replace Nuno Tavares

Ivan Provedel will certainly start in goal, while the backline should consist of Manuel Lazzari, Mario Gila, Alessio Romagnoli and Luca Pellegrini. The latter has big shoes shoes to fill, as Nuno Tavares has been ruled out from the contest after picking up a low-grade muscle injury while on international duty.

Intact Midfield

Baroni will keep the midfield personnel intact, as Matteo Guendouzou, Nicolo Rovella and Matias Vecino remain the main options, especially with Gaetano Castrovilli still nursing an injury. On the wings, Gustav Isaksen and Mattia Zaccagni are the favorites to start, as Pedro’s availability remains in doubt after missing training due to Gastroenteritis.

Taty Castellanos & Boulaye Dia Competing for Starting Spot

Finally, Taty Castellanos and Boulaye Dia will be vying for the striker role. The Argentine will return from a long and exhausting trip from South America, but he remains the more likely candidate due to the Senegalese’s recent misadventure with malaria.

Lazio Probable XI (4-3-3): Provedel; Lazzari, Gila, Romagnoli, Pellegrini; Vecino, Rovella, Guendouzi; Isaksen, Castellanos, Zaccagni

  1. Look, this is a difficult moment but ai am confident Luca will do a good job, and we won’t feel too much the absence of the unavailable players.

Isaksen is in good form, Zaccagni too and I feel both Taty and Dia can make the difference.

The 3 to start in the midfield though have little cover, so we must start thinking for some solutions because they will now have more pressure on their bodies. Missing Cataldi yet Lotito?
