Lazio have reportedly protected their summer investment by inserting an expensive release clause in the contract of Tijjani Noslin.

Tijjani Noslin’s Breakthrough in Serie A

The 25-year-old made his bones in Italian football by making a swift impact at Hellas Verona following his arrival in January 2024. His goals proved decisive for the Gialloblu who pulled off a miraculous escape from relegation under the guidance of Marco Baroini despite a mid-season exodus that deprived them of their best players.

Reuniting with Marco Baroni at Lazio

Therefore, the Lazio manager was eager to reunite with the Dutchman after making the move to the Italian capital. And while Noslin’s start to the season was relatively slow, he’s gradually beginning to prove his worth at the Stadio Olimpico. In his most recent outing, the versatile attacker led the Biancocelesti to the Coppa Italia quarter-finals with a brilliant hat-trick against Napoli.

The Figures

Il Corriere dello Sport sheds light on the figures behind Noslin’s arrival at Lazio. As the source explains, the Aquile paid Verona a transfer fee worth €8.5 million which could rise to a maximum of €9.7 after adding bonuses. The total cost of the operation (including the player’s wages) is between €15M and €18M.

A Whopping Release Clause

More importantly, the source reveals that Noslin’s contract includes a release clause worth a whopping €70 million. Therefore, the Biancocelesti were seemingly expecting the striker to explode at Formello, so they insisted on placing a high figure in the buyout clause to maintain a strong leverage over his future. The attacker’s contract with the Italian capital club is valid until June 2029.
