“Unacceptable Proposal” – Serie A Club President Unimpressed With Lazio Offer

Empoli president Fabrizio Corsi has bluntly told Lazio they must do comprehensively better if they wish to sign Jacopo Fazzini.

The Biancocelesti have identified the 21-year-old as their primary target to bolster the middle of the park in January. Moreover, the player himself is said to be keen on making the move to the Italian capital, so much so that his manager Roberto D’Aversa has recently omitted him from the matchday squad due to the lack of concentration.

The Gap

However, the clubs have been unable to reach an agreement due to a gap in the figures. Lazio have proposed an 18-month loan deal with an obligation to buy for a package worth circa €11 million, while the Tuscans are gunning for a sum closer to €15 million.

So in his chat with Il Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Corsi is urging the Aquile to raise their bid, deeming their current offer ‘unacceptable’, while revealing that the two clubs have already held several rounds of negotiations.

It’s an unacceptable proposal. I don’t close the doors to anyone, but if things are like this, I won’t sell the player. I have the utmost respect for Lotito and Lazio, we’ve known and respected each other for years. We’ve spoken more than once. We can still talk and try to do different things, but their offer for Fazzini isn’t good. So we’ll see.

The Background

Fazzini is an Empoli youth product who rose to prominence over the past few seasons, and has been a regular this season, at least prior to the exit talks. The young midfielder’s contract with the Tuscan club runs until the summer of 2027.
