After a plethora of twists and turns, Torino have seemingly reached the finish line in the chaotic race for Cesare Casadei, beating Lazio at the eleventh hour.
The Transfer Saga
Over the past few days, the Italian media has been overwhelmed by contradicting reports, with each suggesting different outcomes and destinations. Nevertheless, the Italian journalists might not be to blame for this confusing situation, as the two Serie A clubs were indeed involved in a back-and-forth race.
Torino Secure the Signature of Cesare Casadei
But while Lazio and Torino have been trading the lead for days, it appears that the Granata have now emerged victorious as revealed by several news sources in Italy, beginning with Gianluca Di Marzio. The Sky Sport journalist has been tipping Torino to prevail from the very start of the saga, and he now claims that only the signatures are missing.
Torino Overtook Lazio at the Eleventh Hour
On the contrary, Alfredo Pedulla reiterated for weeks that Lazio are ahead, but he now agrees with his colleague, revealing that Casadei has arrived in Italy on Friday and held talks with Torino president Urbano Cairo, and he should be announced as the Granata’s latest signing once he completes his medical.
Pedulla also reports that Lazio have offered the same amount as Torino (€13 million plus sell-on fee), but were asked to raise their bid, as Chelsea were hoping to fuel a bidding war.
Lazio Irked by Chelsea
For his part, DAZN journalist Orazio Accomando explains how Lazio had a full agreement with the player and already booked his flight to Rome. However, everything changed on Thursday night when Torino decided to raise their bid and thus overtake the Biancocelesti. Chelsea decided to proceed with Il Toro who also struck a swift agreement with the midfielder’s entourage.
Hence, Accomando reveals that Lazio have been irritated by the Blues’ behaviour, so it remains to be seen if this thorny rapport will also affect the Aquile’s attempts to sign Abakar Sylla from RC Strasbourg given that the French club has the same owners as the Premier League giants…
Wow, what a surprise! Lotito can’t get it done, never happened before.
just focus on Fazzini who wants to join Lazio from Day 1, what is the point to have put so much effort in this saga while Lotito is that incapable financially?
Yeah, forget Casadei and take Fazzini.
i’m speechless…
Hahahaa…like we never saw this coming…
I’m with Lotito in this one. Also he’s not that great of a player, we dodged a bullet here, you’ll see.
