Lazio have reportedly set their asking price for Nuno Tavares who has emerged as a transfer target for AC Milan.
The Background
The Portuguese left-back is currently on loan from Arsenal, but the Biancocelesti will gladly activate the obligation to buy inserted in his contract by the end of the season. The 25-year-old’s transfer should cost the Italian capital side circa €6 million, making him one of the best coups in Europe given his remarkable feats in his first campaign in Italy.
The former Marseille star took Serie A by storm at the start of the season, providing eight assists for his teammates in as many outings. The full-back’s momentum was halted by a few injury problems between December and January, but he’s gradually regaining his best form once more.
Milan Consider Replacing Theo Hernandez With Nuno Tavares
According to Calciomercato, Milan have identified Tavares as a potential replacement for Theo Hernandez who appears set to leave the club at the end of what has been his most disappointing season since joining the club in 2019. So as the source reveals Lazio have slapped a price tag of €35-40 million on the player’s back.
Arsenal Awaiting Significant Sell-on Fee
However, the Aquile wouldn’t collect the entire figure since they owe Arsenal a 40% sell-on fee as part of their agreement from last summer. Nevertheless, these figures would still represent a major windfall for the Roman club.
Lazio Not in Rush to Sell Nuno Tavares
That being said, Lazio president Claudio Lotito and the club’s sporting director Angelo Fabiani are in no hurry to cash in on their prized asset, as they’ll be waiting for a suitable offer to arrive, whether it would ensue next summer, or in the years to come.
