When it comes to midfielders who ply their trade with the top Serie A clubs, Lazio star Matteo Guendouzi has been identified as the best in producing attacking actions.
Football writer and analyst Rohit Rajeev revealed an interesting study based on midfielders who play for the Top Five Serie A clubs (Inter Milan, Napoli, Atalanta, Juventus and Lazio) in addition to AC Milan, and have featured for at least 1200 minutes this season.
Matteo Guendouzi the Best in Attacking Actions
While the same study revealed Nicolo Rovella as the best defensive midfielder within the aforementioned pool, his Lazio teammate Guendouzi lands on top of the attacking charts. The former Arsenal star almost contributes with an average of 12 attacking actions per game. These include goal-creating actions, progressive passes and progressive carries.
Inter Milan Duo Round Off the Podium
Inter’s Hakan Calhanoglu is just behind the Frenchman in second place. Curiously, the Turkish international is also the runner-up for Rovella in defensive actions, albeit by a significantly larger gap. His teammate Nicolo Barella completes the podium with an average that exceeds 11 attacking actions per match.
