Lazio will be looking to revamp their ageing backline in the summer, and have thus identified Parma’s Enrico Delprato as a transfer target.
Overhaul at the Back
According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, almost every member of the Biancocelesti backline is facing an uncertain future. For instance, the likes of Samuel Gigot, Manuel Lazzari and Patric could make way for younger profiles, especially after failing to lock down starting spots this season. On the other hand, Nuno Tavares and Mario Gila could attract tempting offers.
Lazio Interested in Parma Captain Enrico Delprato
As a result, Lazio Sporting Director Angelo Fabiani is looking to pull off shrewd operations, similar to the ones conducted last summer, in order to strengthen the backline. The report thus mentions Delprato, who has attracted the interest of the Italian capital side thanks to his impressive showings for the Crociati this season.

The Bergamo native naturally started his career at Atalanta. In the summer of 2021, he joined Parma on loan before making his move permanent a year later. The Parma captain is originally a right-back, but has played at centre-back on several occasions this season, particularly under the guidance of his former coach Fabio Pecchia.
Matteo Delprato’s Value & Salary
The 25-year-old has been serving as club captain and is considered a stalwart at the back, but the Emilians might be open to cashing in on his services next summer, as his current contract only runs until June 2027. The source estimates his value at €8-10 million, while his salary is lower than €1 million.
Could Lazio Play the Matteo Cancellieri Card?
Finally, the report notes that Parma have the option to buy Lazio loanee Matteo Cancellieri at the end of the season for €9 million, which could give the Aquile the upper hand in the race for Delprato.
I do like Delprsto, he is quite solid but I don’t think he is better then Romagnoli or Gila, so unless that’s the case, he comes as a squad player.
Now if Gila leaves, I think we need someone better to take his place.
Let’s see what target we reach at the end of the season & Europa League and decisions should be done accordingly.
