On Monday evening, Lazio and Torino will cross paths at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome as the 30th matchday of Serie A draws to a close.

The Biancocelesti have fallen on hard times recently, but they can always rely on the support of their loyal fanatics who are always racing to collect their tickets and pack the stands through rain or shine. The Lazio supporters are always keen to provide a lively and euphoric atmosphere at home, while also making their voices heard on the road.

After disappointing the fanbase with their calamitous showing in Bologna, Marco Baroni’s men will be determined to make amends by beating Torino at home. Nevertheless, the in-form Granata will offer the Laziali a stern challenge, as their squad is packed with quality players, which will result in some interesting duels all over the pitch.

Therefore, let’s take a closer look at five compelling duels between the two sets of players, at least based on the expected starting lineups.

Elseid Hysaj vs Eljif Elmas

The first duel pits two former Napoli players against one another. Eljif Elmas returned to Serie A with a bang in January. While he’s originally a midfielder, his versatility allows him to cover several roles, and Paolo Vanoli has been utilizing him as a left winger to great effect.

But this time, the North Macedonian will find a savvy veteran on his way to the box, one who is all too familiar with his skill set. Nevertheless, it remains to be seen if Elseid Hysaj has managed to regain his optimal physical condition following his time on the sidelines.

Alessio Romagnoli vs Che Adams

Che Adams has been one of the pleasant additions to the Torino squad this season as he’s been filling in for the injured Duvan Zapata. On the other hand, Alessio Romagnoli has been on fine form recently, so he’ll be aiming to stop the Scotsman in his tracks.

Matteo Guendouzi vs Cesare Casadei

Cesare Casadei is unlikely to receive a good ovation at the Stadio Olimpico, even though his botched January transfer to Lazio might not necessarily be his own doing. Like Elmas, the January signing has made a great splash in Turin, but this time, he’ll have to go head-to-head with one of the most hyperactive midfielders in Serie A in the form of Matteo Guendouzi.

Loum Tchaouna vs Cristiano Biraghi

Loum Tchaouna could step in for Gustav Isaksen who has a slight knock, so it will be interesting to see how he’ll cope against Cristiano Biraghi. The former Fiorentina captain is extremely dangerous when going forward, but at times tend to leave spaces for the winger to exploit.

Tijjani Noslin vs Saul Coco

This should be a good one between two players who scored in the reverse fixture. Tijjani Noslin hasn’t been able to fill in the large boots of Taty Castellanos, but he’ll be aiming to make the most out of this opportunity, even if he’ll have to go against the solid Saul Coco and his defensive partner, Guillermo Maripan.
