Lazio haven’t been able to find an agreement with Maurizio Sarri and his entourage in their first meeting on Thursday night.

The Background

The Biancocelesti have decided to part ways with Marco Baroni after a disappointing end to what began as a very promising campaign for the club. The management will thus meet the 61-year-old on Friday to terminate his contract, while Sarri’s return to Formello has been identified as the club’s Plan A.

Lazio Optimistic About Agreement with Maurizio Sarri

The club’s sporting director, Angelo Fabiani, was joined by several top Lazio officials in a long meeting with Sarri’s representatives on Thursday evening. However, all sources agree that the white smoke has yet to emerge. According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the Biancocelesti remain optimistic in their chances, but more work needs to be done on this front.

Sarri Wants Guarantees

Fellow journalist Alfredo Pedulla reveals that Sarri’s entourage is asking for additional guarantees, and not just on the economic level. Hence, it appears that the 66-year-old wants to be convinced by the club’s sporting aspirations before accepting a return to the club he left 15 months ago.

Bridgeable Gap

Moreover, La Lazio Siamo Noi believes that the distance between the two parties isn’t large, and there is every intention to bridge the gap on both sides. However, the manager’s agents are expecting an improved second offer. The deal should also include a bonus related to qualifying for European competitions.

  1. Wonder what are sport expectations from the board. Napoli is bringing top quality players – KDB, David… Juve wants Gyokeres or Osimhen. And Lazio… we want to sell Romangoli, Gila, Marusic, Taty, Zaccagni, Guendo and bring some cheap no-name Africans or Balkans…

Does that mean we want to be like Torino or Fiorentina? To hope to find some talents for cheap, sell for gain and exist around 6th – 12th spot? And think about long forgotten glory days from the past? Because to me, it looks like it…

    1. I am tottaly agree with you. This is a really wrong way where are heading to. IF I could be, I still give more time to Baroni, just to make his own way and from the next season I am 100% sure, everything and everybody will find his place and we would be in the top4 again! WE DO NOT NEED SARRI and his f***ing stupid system with his negative attitude. Keep everybody most importantli Guendu,Rovella Gila, Romagnoli, SELL Tchaouna cause he was unfortunately the worst sign last year and LOTITO please invest a Top class finisher and/or a Preimium playmaker/fullback! Forza biancocelesti per sempre!
