Lazio youngster Loum Tchaouna is set to join Burnley as the two clubs have reportedly struck a full accord.

The Background

The French winger is a youth product of Stade Rennais who enjoyed his breakthrough campaign at Salernitana, which prompted the Biancocelesti to splash €9 million to secure his services last summer. However, the 21-year-old endured a forgettable first season at Formello, only contributing with two goals and one assist.

Lazio & Burnley Agree on Transfer Fee for Loum Tchaouna

Nevertheless, Burnley feel they can help the promising player rediscover his groove, so they have been adamant about luring him to the English shores. According to Italian journalist Damiano Er Faina, the newly-promoted Premier League side has now reached the finish line, as they have found a full agreement with Lazio over the transfer.

Decisive Raise From Burnley

The Lazio insider had revealed in an earlier post on his X account that the Clarets have decided to raise their offer to €15 million, so it appears that the Aquile have accepted the bid. Therefore, Tchaouna is now expected to head to England to undergo the necessary steps to finalize the transfer and sign a contract with Burnley.

Will Lazio Seek a Replacement?

As for Lazio, it remains to be seen if they will even attempt to replace the Frenchman. After all, the management must trim the squad after failing to qualify for any European competition next season. Moreover, Tchaouna wasn’t a regular starter under Marco Baroni, but a mere backup, primarily for Gustav Isaksen on the right wing, and occasionally for Taty Castellanos upfront.
