Lazio extended their woeful run as they had to postpone Maurizio Sarri’s press conference after causing a stir with an unconventional decision.
The Background
The Biancocelesti are coming off a disappointing end of the season, as they failed to qualify for any European competition. After bringing Sarri back to the club, the fans were hoping to see some promising signs this summer, but instead, they have been witnessing a horror show unfold in front of their very eyes.
Lazio Banned From Signing New Players
After failing to properly settle their accounts, the Aquile have been prevented from making any new summer signings due to a transfer ban imposed by COVISOC. Hence, any hopes of reinforcing the squad were left in tatters.
The Blunders Keep coming
To make matters even worse, the hierarchy has been committing one howler after another. Earlier this week, the club accidentally posted the new kits on their official website, one day before the official unveiling. And now they have followed it up by making an utter mess out of Sarri’s first press conference.
Lazio Prevent Jounalists from Attending Maurizio Sarri’s Unveiling
The management had surprisingly decided to hold the press conference at the club’s headquarters, but without the presence of any journalists. Needless to say, the Italian media wasn’t impressed, so the Lazio Regional Council of Journalists released a statement urging the club to reconsider this bizarre decision, reports La Lazio Siamo Noi.
Sarri’s Press Conference Delay
On Wednesday, Lazio decided to delay Sarri’s unveiling until the end of the pre-season. The club confirmed the decision through a statement posted on the club’s official website, which also explained why they had initially opted to omit journalists from attending the presser.
We firmly reject any attempt to attribute to SS Lazio the intention to limit press freedom or to exclude our coach from legitimate discussions with journalists.
The decision to hold Mr. Sarri’s presentation conference in the Club’s television studios stems from the desire to offer a technologically advanced, innovative, and transparent product.
Mr. Sarri’s official presentation, initially scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday), will be postponed until the end of the pre-season retreat, in consultation with the coach.

Everything the club is doing at the moment is going horribly wrong. Fortunately, Sarri seems to have extremely good nerves when it comes to Lazio.
Serie C management. I wont be surpised to see Lazio getting relegated in the near future if the management keeps up with this.
I hope Lotito sell the club to someone who is financially capable and is willing to bring back the honor that Lazio had in 25 years ago. Lotito is doing too bad. As long as he stays, Lazio will never evolve.
I don’t know guys, I’m losing hope… Lotto, you did your best, thank you for that, it is time to sell.
