Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri will be without Reda Belahyane and Matias Vecino for this weekend’s friendly against Burnley.

Lazio Preparing for Burnley Contest

The Biancocelesti headed to England for their fifth friendly test of the summer. They will be hosted by the newly-promoted Premier League club at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon, with the kickoff set at 16:00 CET. However, Sarri’s host will be missing several players.

Growing List of Absentees

Gustav Isaksen is still recovering from an infectious mononucleosis that has hampered his pre-season from the get-go, while Patric is sidelined with an injury. Samuel Gigot resumed personalised training, but he’s expected to be left out in Rome. Moreover, Belahyane picked up an ankle injury earlier this week which will keep him out for at least 10 days.

Matias Vecino Suffers a Knock in Lazio Training

Sadly for the Aquile, Friday morning’s training session at Formello bore additional misfortune, as Vecino had to stop after suffering muscle strain in his left thigh, reveals La Lazio Siamo Noi. The hope is that it would be a case of muscle fatigue, but the Uruguayan may have to undergo some tests in the coming days to determine whether he suffered an injury or not.

Therefore, Sarri has been left with a depleted midfield department. Danilo Cataldi, Nicolo Rovella, Matteo Guendouzi and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru will be vying for three places in the middle of the park, while Toma Basic could be an additional option, especially in the second period.
