Lazio are reportedly willing to entertain offers for Samuel Gigot who now finds himself at the bottom of the pecking order.
The Background
The 31-year-old joined the Italian capital side last summer on loan with an obligation to buy from Olympique Marseille, before finalising a permanent transfer last month. The Frenchman wasn’t a regular starter under Marco Baroni, but was often the first option off the bench to replace either Mario Gila or Alessio Romagnoli.
Gigot Fell Down Maurizio Sarri’s Pecking Order
However, Gigot’s role could be vastly reduced this season, with Maurizio Sarri reportedly favouring Oliver Provstgaard and his old pupil Patric, making him the club’s fifth centre-back option. Therefore, Lazio and the player are seemingly open to parting ways before the end of the summer transfer session.
Lazio Willing to Sell Samuel Gigot for €3-4 Million
According to Il Messaggero, the former Marseille stalwart won’t command a large transfer fee, as Lazio have set their asking price at €3-4 million. The source also mentions potential suitors in the Arab world, particularly in Qatar and Dubai.
Nevertheless, it should be noted that previous reports had claimed that Sarri has asked Lazio to keep his squad intact, including Gigot, especially amidst Patric’s recurring injury struggles.

Sell him, no need for 5 centre backs although I like his playing style.
