Lazio head coach Maurizio Sarri has only been impressed by two players who arrived at Formello while Marco Baroni was in charge.
The Background
The 66-year-old ended his original stint at the club by resigning in March 2024. Igor Tudor came in as a replacement until the end of the season, before making way for Baroni. The latter thus oversaw the squad overhaul that occurred in the summer of 2024, amidst the departures of key players like Ciro Immobile, Luis Alberto and Felipe Anderson, as well as the January 2025 transfer campaign.

During Baroni’s one-year reign, Lazio signed nine first-team players, but only seven remain in the Italian capital, as Loum Tchaouna was sold to Burnley last summer, while Arijon Ibrahimovic returned to Bayern Munich after a brief and forgettable loan stint. But according to Il Messaggero, Sarri is only a fan of two of the remaining seven.
Boulaye Dia & Oliver Provstgaard Ente Sarri’s Good Graces
The former Napoli and Juventus manager is happy to have Boulaye Dia and Oliver Provstgaard at his disposal, even if neither is an automatic starter. The Senegalese is a versatile attacker who can either fill in for Taty Castellanos in the centre-forward role or operate just behind the Argentine. As for the Danish defender, he’s considered the long-term successor of Alessio Romagnoli.
Sarri Willing to Sell Five Marco Baroni Signings
On the contrary, Sarri wouldn’t mind selling any of the other five players, namely Nuno Tavares, Tijjani Noslin, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Samuel Gigot and Reda Belhayane. Therefore, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Lazio offload one or more of these players to finance their January transfer window, at least if they manage to lift the ban.

You know what, Steven. I’m still waiting for “Lotito to sell Lazio” or “Lotito is thinking of offers for Lazio” etc.
Do we have to wait til his tummy explodes?
Forgot one thing, also “Lazio are finally granted to build (and own) their private stadium !”
Dia -bolical!
