Lazio are aiming to lift the transfer ban in the coming weeks as they lay plans for what should be a busy January.
Lazio Preparing January Changes
According to Il Messaggero, Lazio will be looking to raise funds by selling some of their current players, especially those who haven’t been able to cement themselves as regular starters at Maurizio Sarri’s court. Therefore, the newspaper claims that the manager has agreed with the club directors on three profiles who will be put on the transfer list.
Dele-Bashiru Out of Maurizio Sarri’s Plans
The first is Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, who has been dropped from the Serie A squad in favor of the revitalised Toma Basic after suffering an injury. The Nigerian was a starter in the first four weeks of the season, but wasn’t able to convince Sarri in the left central-midfielder role, as he’s been considered too anarchic for the manager’s system.
Belahyane & Noslin Also on the Chopping Block
Dele-Bashiru isn’t the only Marco Baroni signing who failed to impose himself this season, as Reda Belahyane has also been lost in the shuffle. The young Moroccan arrived last January to act as Nicolo Rovella’s understudy, but this role has been occupied by the returning Danilo Cataldi. The same goes for Tijjani Noslin, who can cover various roles in attack, but is at the bottom of the pecking order.
Sarri Wants Insigne & Ilic at Lazio
On the other hand, Sarri is still hellbent on reuniting with his former Napoli pupil, Lorenzo Insigne, who remains a free agent. He would also like to rekindle his partnership with his long-time favorite, Piotr Ziekinski, but he realizes that Inter Milan wouldn’t allow it. Therefore, the manager asked for Torino’s Ivan Ilic as an alternative in the middle of the park.
Nuno Tavares Out, Aaron Martin In?
Finally, Lazio are also open to parting ways with Nuno Tavares who hasn’t found his footing under the returning manager. If the Portuguese ends up leaving Formello, the Biancocelesti would revive their interest in Genoa’s Spanish left-back, Aaron Martin.

Those would all be great moves, the problem is who would want those players?
