Lazio are one of four Serie A clubs keeping tabs on Dinamo Zagreb right-back Moris Valincic, at least according to the player’s agent.

Lazio’s January Plans

The Biancocelesti are bracing themselves for what should be an eventful January. The club will be looking to sign a new midfielder, as well as an understudy for Mattia Zaccagni on the left wing, who could be Lorenzo Insigne. Moreover, Nuno Tavares could be heading to Saudi Arabia, so the Biancocelesti will likely need a new left-back as well.

Lazio Will Likely Need a New Right-Back in the Summer

While a new right-back won’t be required this season, Il Corriere dello Sport notes that Lazio will need to recruit someone for this role if they don’t manage to renew Adam Marusic’s expiring contract, not to mention that Manuel Lazzari is also facing an uncertain future.

Moris Valincic Lands on Lazio Shortlist

The Roman newspaper thus mentions Valincic as a potential candidate for the role. The 23-year-old’s agent, Adrian Aliaj, has recently hyped up a move to Serie A, claiming that his client is wanted by four Italian giants.

Inter, Milan, Lazio, and especially Napoli are interested in Moris, but no one has made an offer yet.

Two clubs said a month and a half ago that they wanted to close the deal in the winter and leave him at Dinamo until the summer, like [Petar] Sucic did last season, but the injury slowed things down.

Valincic’s Background

The Croatian full-back began his career at his hometown club, Rijeka, before joining Dinamo Zagreb’s youth ranks in 2018. Valincic was released by the capital side in 2021 and then embarked on several experiences before earning his way back to Dinamo, who spent just over €1 million to re-sign him last summer.

Stats & Market Value

This season, the Croatian U21 international has cemented himself as a regular starter at the club. He has thus far contributed with two assists in 14 appearances across all competitions, including one in the Europa League. Valincic is tied to the Zagreb-based giants with a contract valid until June 2029. Transfermarkt estimates his value at €2 million.
