Lazio will have to make a few sales to keep their finances afloat, and Christos Mandas is considered the perfect candidate for a January departure.
Lazio Finally Unblock Their Market
On Tuesday, the Biancocelesti announced that the transfer ban that blocked their market dealings last summer has now been lifted. But while the Italian capital side will be able to operate freely in January, it cannot afford to spend lavishly, as another ban hangs over the club like the Sword of Damocles.
Nuno Tavares Agrees Terms With Saudi Giants – Lazio & Arsenal Set for January Boost
After all, the required cost-to-revenue ratio will drop from 80% to 70% ahead of next summer, giving Italian clubs an even more challenging task at the financial level. Hence, January sales are almost inevitable, not only to fund new operations, but also to register much-needed capital gains.
Lazio Decide to Sell Christos Mandas in January
In recent hours, it has been reported that Nuno Tavares has agreed to join Saudi Pro League giants Al-Ittihad, although the transfer hinges on an accord between the two clubs. But according to Il Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), the Aquile also plan to offload Mandas, who has yet to make a Serie A appearance this season, with Maurizio Sarri solely relying on Ivan Provedel between the posts.

Juventus & Other Serie A Sides Interested in Mandas
The 24-year-old only cost Lazio circa €1 million when he made the move from OFI Crete in the summer of 2023. His departure should generate a significant profit. The Greek custodian has recently been linked with a move to Juventus, while the likes of Genoa and Torino have also emerged as potential suitors.
Panathinaikos Submitted a Bid for Mandas
The Roman newspaper adds that Lazio have only received a concrete offer from Panathinaikos. The Athens-based giants put €7 million on the table, a figure that Claudio Lotito and CO. deemed too low. Nevertheless, more developments are expected on the front in the coming weeks.
