Lazio remain interested in Torino midfielder Ivan Ilic, and the two clubs are interested in a swap deal that would also include Reda Belahyane.
Lazio Consider Signing a New Midfielder a January Priority
With the transfer ban finally lifted, the Biancocelesti’s sporting director, Angelo Fabiani, is currently tracking several players, as he looks to sign the midfielder Maurizio Sarri had been promised last summer.
Lazio Rekindle Long-Standing Interest in Ivan Ilic
According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà, Ilic is one of the names on Lazio’s midfield shortlist, alongside Atalanta’s Lazar Samardzic, and AC Milan’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek, although the Englishman remains a distant dream. Maurizio Sarri’s interest in the Serbian dates back to 2021, when he was considered a potential replacement for Luis Alberto, who ended up staying at Formello.

Ilic then joined Torino in 2023 under the orders of Ivan Juric, who had already coached him at Hellas Verona. However, the 24-year-old is no longer a regular starter for the Granata, as Marco Baroni has been favoring other players in the middle of the park. Therefore, Lazio could seize the opportunity to launch a new onslaught for the Manchester City academy product.
Torino Interested in Reda Belahyane
As Pedullà reports, Lazio have already made contact with the Serbian’s entourage. In the meantime, Torino are interested in Belahyane, who is considered surplus to requirements at Sarri’s court. The young Morocan already played under Baroni at Verona and Lazio, so both men could be enticed by another reunion.
Lazio & Torino Open for Double Loan
The journalist reveals that the two clubs are currently studying the feasibility of the double operation, which would likely see Ilic and Belahyane switching clubs on loan in January, with the possibility of sealing permanent transfers at the end of the season.

Sounds good for me, even though I believe Reda has quality, he never really showed it with the little playing time he got and we should do better to be fair.
