Lazio will have limited options at the back in Sunday’s contest against Napoli, as Patric has been ruled out with an injury.
Lazio Defender Patric Suffers Muscle Injury
According to Il Messaggero, the Spaniard suffered a muscle injury that will keep him on the sidelines for at least a couple of weeks. This will be a setback for Maurizio Sarri, as the club’s nursery had almost been emptied for the first time since the start of the season.

Nicolo Rovella has finally returned to the squad following his long ordeal caused by a groin injury. Hence, Samuel Gigot was the only one left on the treatment table, and he’s been excluded from the manager’s plans since the summer.
Patric Has Had Limited Playing Time this Season
This season, Patric has only made four appearances in Serie A, beginning with two brief cameos in the wins over Genoa and Lecce. Last month, he entered the pitch in the final 10 minutes of the 1-1 draw against Bologna following Mario Gila’s dismissal. He then replaced his suspended compatriot in the following match in Parma, which ended in epic fashion.
Lazio’s Absentees Against Napoli
With the former Barcelona man unavailable, Oliver Provstgaard will be the only centre-back option on the bench against Napoli, as Gila and Alessio Romagnoli are expected to start as usual. Lazio will also be without Boulaye Dia and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, who are currently participating in the African Cup of Nations. Moreover, Taty Castellanos has flown to London to complete his transfer to West Ham.

Time to get rid of him. Can’t afford a player that misses half the season every year.
