West Ham United announced the capture of Taty Castellanos, who bid Lazio supporters farewell through a social media post.
The Background
The Biancocelesti bought the striker from New York City FC in the summer of 2023. He initially served as a backup for Ciro Immobile before becoming the club’s first choice when Igor Tudor took over in March 2024. The Argentine remained the Aquile’s main man upfront during the 2024/25 campaign under Marco Baroni, and was only recently dropped to the bench by Maurizio Sarri.

The 66-year-old manager recently admitted that Castellanos might not be the ideal profile for his tactical system, so a divorce became almost inevitable. Over the past few days, Lazio were able to strike a deal with West Ham, who reportedly put €30 million on the table.
Castellanos Pays Tribute to Lazio
On Monday, the Hammers confirmed the signing of the Argentine striker who penned a contract valid until June 2030. The announcement was made by West Ham’s official website. For his part, Castellanos paid tribute to his now-former club and supporters with an open letter posted on his Instagram account.

Castellanos leaves Lazio after two and a half seasons that featured 98 appearances across all competitions. He scored 22 goals for the Biancocelesti and produced 16 assists.
